Interest Groups

GadaboutsThe Gadabouts visit different locales in the Sacramento region once a month as a group. For instance, this year they have visited "The Castle" in Ione, the Food Culture museum and Art Gallery near Marysville, and historic Benecia. The four book sections are always open to new members.

Anyone interested in joining a bridge group should contact Virginia Waugh. Edie Devereaux is chair of Duplicate Bridge which meets the second Friday at 9:30 a.m.

Golf is a new Interest Group. Contact Carol Hayes if you are interested in playing golf once a month in the north area.

new membersThe Play Readers meet on the first Thursday of the month at 1:00 p.m. at a members's home. Marjo Norton is chair.

The Travel Section will meet on the fourth Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Contact Bette Jackson for information about the Travel Section.

On February 13, 2007 Great Decisions will have the first meeting at the Fair Oaks Library Community Room. Contact Judi Walgenbach if interested.

The Gourmette group will meet on the third Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Contact Julia Huwe for information.

The Movie Group will meet on the first Wednesday for a movie and refreshments. Contact Marilyn Burnam for information.

The Theater volunteers maintain the snack bar and usher at the Sacramento Theater Company for the afternoon performances. One perk is that the volunteers get to see the plays free. A sign-up list is available for anyone interested. Contact Louise Lockhart

The Dining Out group eats out as often as the chair organizes an outing. Marjo Norton is chair of "Singles Dining Out."

The Lunch Bunch is a new group. Contact Berry Melson.
